Training in Self-directed Language Learning

Posted by hausaonline on Wednesday, July 5, 2006

The Summer Institute of Linguistics (SIL) offers courses on self-directed language learning which are designed to give people tools to learn any language and culture. The courses include strategies for self-directed language learning, an intensive training in phonetics, and also in cross-cultural communication. Part of the course is practical experience in language learning by working with a speaker of a non-Indo-European language.

Here is a listing of courses taught at SIL-affiliated schools in the US and Europe.
